![]() Proud to Recommend... Of course there’s a story with this! Could you have doubted it for a moment? A few years ago I was on a trip that took me to Crow Creek Indian Reservation in South Dakota. For any of you who have been to South Dakota, particular the Pierre area, you’ll know that it’s not exactly the hot spot for vacationers. Looking for something … anything … to do besides painting and cleaning the youth centers on the reservation, we took a day off and headed to the Corn Palace. Yes folks, Mitchell, South Dakota has a Corn Palace. A palace made of corn. It’s true. You don’t go to the Corn Palace without getting a Corn Palace souvenir because, well, who’s going to believe that a Corn Palace exists without proof? You definitely aren’t going to get a Corn Palace t-shirt because two days after you’re home you won’t be caught dead wearing a Corn Palace t-shirt, so what’s a girl to do? Buy a bag or two of corn chowder, invite guests to dinner and recall your fond memories about the Corn Palace Tour. That’s what I did. That’s how I discovered the wonderful Illinois (I know, I know, it wasn’t even South Dakota corn but at least they sold it at the Corn Palace!) Prairie Corn Chowder from Frontier Soup! It’s fantastic! Why bother with homemade when you can open a bag, add a couple of your own ingredients and have a fantastic chowder? I love it. I order every fall. And you should, too!
