![]() Proud to Recommend... Oh my gosh! YUM! Wait till you hear this story! You may have already come across my review of Frontier Soups. Good soup! Really good soup! I recently placed an order for a selection of soups, and the January special happened to be a free bag of croutons with each order. OK, that's cool. I like croutons. I like free stuff even more. I'll gladly accept free croutons! The soup order arrived, and the free box of croutons were enclosed. With a winter storm moving in, I decided to cook up a batch of Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup. I even added cream, as the package recommended. It looked and smelled wonderful! As I was dishing up my bowl of soup, I tossed in a crouton. I grabbed a drink, sat down, filled my spoon with a bit of broth, popped the crouton into my mouth and ... YUM!!! It exploded with flavor!! I was expecting it to be ... OK ... I mean, it's only a crouton! But it was so tasty I immediately grabbed the box to find out exactly what I was eating! Turns out it's Olivia's Croutons, and let me tell you, Olivia knows how to make croutons! The garlic crouton complemented the taste of the soup amazingly well, as if they were made for each other! I'm a little iffy when it comes to strong garlic flavors, but these croutons are infused with garlic and they're delicious! Another plus is that they're substantial, thus they don't break down into mush when you toss them into your soup bowl. In fact, they can withstand the hot broth as long as you can stand to let them sit in it, your mouth watering the whole time! :-) I haven't seen that the croutons are available through Frontier Soups, but you can get them direct from Olivia's website. Which is what I'm going to do momentarily!
