Shamless Self-Promotion!!! So, that makes it, I don't know, a dictatorship of sorts, I guess! And I've declared that it's OK to plug my own web site as long as I clearly point out to you who I am and what my connections are! That said, I'd like to talk about my web business. I started out with nothing but my own personal website for a number of years, and then one day I volunteered to build a site for a non-profit agency. One site became two and word got out. I was asked to build a site for some friends who were just getting started with business, and I did. Then my sister needed a site. Then her friend needed a site. Then their friend needed a site. Then their boss needed a site. And after that I lost track of who knew who and where the referrals came from. Several years into my own part-time web business, I have learned a lot of tricks of the trade. Most of all I like start-up clients who are looking for a professional yet inexpensive way to get started with an on-line presence. I like to build sites from templates because they are the most affordable for my clients, however I do custom sites as well. I have built Flash websites, though I tend to discourage them because they are a lot more expensive and the return on the investment doesn't necessarily balance out. The easiest money for me is maintenance on a site that is already complete. I love maintenance work, but I will also show you how to make simple changes to your site so that you do not have to rely on me for your maintenance. (Some clients love it; others won't touch it!) If you're considering getting started on the web, I invite you to visit my site and have a look around. Compare prices; compare service; compare quality. And no matter who you choose, I wish you success and prosperity!
